The Foster Care Program (FC) provides cash and Medi-Cal benefits to out-of-home care providers for children placed in foster care by Sacramento County Child Protective Services (CPS) or the Department of Probation. People in California seeking help are encouraged to consult one of the many state-funded organizations that provide legal services to immigrants. Sacramento County Alcohol and Drug Services offers a variety of substance use disorder services to eligible CalWORKs beneficiaries.
